Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at karamveer@healingfirst.in if you cannot find an answer to your question.

“Great question. Traditional counseling is one-on-one and reactive, while Healing First is preventive and holistic. We focus on mindfulness, social-emotional learning, and mentorship training, which builds resilience before stress becomes overwhelming. We also integrate our program with academics and NAAC requirements, making it institutionally valuable.”

Yes. Research globally shows mindfulness improves focus, reduces anxiety, and builds emotional regulation. In our sessions with students, we’ve seen high engagement and positive feedback—students report feeling calmer, more focused, and more motivated. We also plan to partner with departments like yours to create joint research and data on student well-being.

We keep it flexible. Healing First can start with a pilot workshop (3 hours) or a quarterly program. For scaling, we propose setting up a Mental Well-being Center, which we co-manage with faculty and student leaders. Our aim is to support, not add extra burden on faculty.

Healing First directly contributes to student support & progression (Criterion V), faculty development (Criterion II), research & extension (Criterion III), and can be showcased as a Best Practice (Criterion VII). We can also co-create certificate courses under CBCS, which adds academic weight

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 also emphasizes this by

acknowledging that social and emotional aspects of a student’s life

are essential for holistic development. It encourages the cultivation

of life skills such as collaboration, resilience, empathy, and effective

communication—all of which form the foundation of a happy life.

Many universities run awareness programs, but Healing First brings a structured model—from workshops to handbooks, from SEL-integrated lesson plans to appreciation programs for faculty. We bring both expertise and scalability, and by collaborating, your department gains national visibility and joint research opportunities.
